Avrilionis Olive Mill has been operating in the community of Gargalianoi since 1964, specializing in the extraction, standardization, and trade of olive oil. From the beginning of our operations until today, we have been committed to continuous technological advancement and improving the quality of our facilities. Today, we are one of the most modern olive mills in the country, offering exceptional quality olive oil.
At our olive mill, the transport and initiation of the milling process take place within 4 to 15 hours from harvest, ensuring the freshness of the fruit. This preserves its quality characteristics, such as acidity, and prevents spoilage of the fruit, including mold and fermentation.
During the milling process, we utilize the most modern machines to achieve maximum yield and quality of the olive oil we produce. The olive paste is processed through three Decanter centrifuges, of new technology, with two-phase operation, working simultaneously.
From the arrival of the fruit at the olive mill, throughout the extraction and milling process, to storage and bottling, we apply techniques according to international quality standards to ensure the excellent final quality of the produced product. Our olive mill holds all the necessary certifications for safe operation.
Our production process is based on strict control. We monitor through a modern monitoring panel, check the input-output of malaxers, record the temperature accurately, and determine the malaxing times. Automation ensures smooth operation to prevent errors, enhancing accuracy and efficiency at every stage of our process.
In our own facilities, we have storage space with a total capacity of over 1,200 tons of olive oil, in 24 specially designed underground tanks made of stainless steel. The olive oil is stored at a temperature and light level that preserve its freshness and quality.
For years, we have been learning about the olive, and it teaches us in return. The knowledge and love for olive oil is passed down from generation to generation. Our family has a long tradition in the olive oil industry since 1964.
In 1989, George Avrilionis reorganized the business with modern centrifugal olive oil production machines, responding to the developments of the 1990s in olive oil production.
After fifty years of experience, in 2002 we discovered new possibilities. In order to adapt to modern production and quality standards, we moved to a new location, invested in a new, state-of-the-art olive mill unit, and certified its operation with all the necessary quality management and food safety certifications.
After many intermediate upgrades and investments, the business has taken the form it has today. With a production capacity of up to 3,000,000 kilograms of olive oil annually and the ability to store over 1,200,000 kilograms of olive oil in ideal environmental conditions at our owned facilities, we can proudly be considered one of the most modern and technologically advanced olive oil production units in the country.
